Original Art Work by Kathy Hebert

Testimonials

Paintings

"Kathy Hebert has shown her art work at Gale Free Library in Holden for many years.  There has always been much interest in her exhibits and I have heard many positive comments about her work. She is an artist that I always invite back for another show. Kathy also taught an adult art class at the library and that was very popular with the students, many of them had never drawn before. But Kathy's patience and humor made the sessions fun and educational. Kathy has also been generous in encouraging her students to have their own art show at the library. For many, it was the first time that their work has been on display and the quality of talent was impressive. When you know that Kathy Hebert is involved, you know that the event or program will be professional and colorful!"

Cards

"Kathy Hebert has produced high-quality reproductions of her original artwork in these beautiful cards. Along with her seemingly unlimited artistic talent, Kathy provides excellent customer service. I have purchased several sets of her cards and enjoy choosing just the right image for the occasion and the recipient." - Pat T.

"Got the cards and I like them so much, I will not be sending them out! I'm keeping as fine examples of painting! Lovely!” - Annie

"I love having blank cards around 'just in case' so I try to remember to buy a couple when I'm at a card shop. Unfortunately I'm not often at a card shop and when I am, it's hard to find designs I like. Now that I've discovered Kathy's unique cards, I'm sold. The designs are perfect for any occasion and the quality is excellent, so I'm always proud to send Kathy's card to anyone. And they are far less expensive than buying single cards at the card shop. Can't beat it! I'll never go back to the card shop again!" - Kerry

Classes

"I've just completed my first year exploring drawing and painting. I never thought I could do any of this until I took Kathy's drawing class. I learned some great skills and also sparked an interest in painting. I now take painting classes with Kathy and continue to amaze myself with what I can do. Kathy is a kind and encouraging teacher who is quickly becoming my artistic mentor. What was supposed to be a little hobby is turning into an obsession!" - Michael

"Kathy possesses the unique blend of talented artist and excellent teacher. She has a wonderful eye for color and composition and works with each student to bring out their own unique vision versus taking a cookie cutter approach to teaching art. She is patient, always supportive, and makes her classes fun! Thanks to Kathy I am pursuing a lifelong ambition." - Judy

"My friends and family are amazed to discover an artist in their midst.  In just six months under Kathy’s guidance, I have developed from a novice who didn’t know how to hold a paintbrush or mix colors, to a student artist with a solid grounding in the basics and the confidence to paint with pleasure. (You can always paint over it!) Painting class is the highlight of my week, and it is always filled with laughter and gentle lessons." - Elizabeth

"I actually learned to draw! I am very excited about that."..."Kathy is a fantastic teacher who understands her subject matter, knows how to present it so that even the least talented can achieve success and also always has a positive attitude. I never realized I could draw!" - Student comments on Beginning Art - Assabet class.

"Kathy is a wonderful teacher; she knows her painting, especially color mixing! Tough, but wonderful." - Roni

"Kathy is gifted as an artist and a teacher. Her ability to motivate her students, with a mix of humor and respect, is exceptional." - Rosemary

"I wish I had more English to talk about you, your class, your sense of humor, your knowledge, and your art. To me, you are a very fine artist, and the best teacher. In your studio I am learning not just to paint, but to draw, how transfer to canvas or paper what I am seeing, which to me is one of the most difficult things people can teach. The espejito, espejito magico (the magic mirror) is the greatest tool you could provide your students with; your sharp eye for lines and color, your prompt advices in the middle of our brush strokes are so helpful in our learning process. At your studio, we are able to enjoy a nice background music, a nice and organized site where everything is handy, and available. The students definitely enjoy the classes, and their improvement is so obvious from class to class. I am lucky to have you as my teacher, Thanks for sharing your knowledge, your humor and your art. With admiration and respect," - Libia

"Signing up for that first drawing class at Assabet After Dark was the best thing I could have done! Kathy is a wonderfully talented artist who can teach in such a positive and supportive way that every one of us came away with a confidence in our drawing abilities. Not even halfway through that first 10-week drawing class, I knew that I wanted to sign up for more. Thanks Kathy, you've gotten me hooked on a passion for drawing and now painting that I forgot about!" - Jessica

"I've been taking art classes with Kathy about 10 years, starting out in her evening drawing class for non-artists. She was so knowledgeable and encouraging that I moved on to charcoal and painting classes at her studio and have been there ever since. I learn something new from her at every class and my painting have improved immeasurably. People even ask me now if my paintings are for sale! Besides learning technique and improving all the time, I've discovered that painting is a great way of 'meditating' or stress reduction for me. That's a huge benefit for me, with my busy life, and a great value at any price. Thanks, Kathy!" - Kerry

"I hadn’t drawn a single thing since childhood before starting Kathy’s “Beginner Drawing” class. I was amazed at what I was able to learn and accomplish in ten weeks. Her instruction is clear and fun, focused and without pressure. As long as you do your homework, you’ll see yourself improve unbelievably fast! She’s so full of knowledge, kindness, and encouragement. Each student’s work gets her full attention. I’m now nearing the end of my first painting class with her...never in a million years did I imagine myself painting! My family has been amazed at the techniques I have learned. I look forward to every class." - Robin

"As a child, I had always wanted to see something of mine out for the public to see. I had hoped to be an architect. That never happened. I was approaching middle age and I had a decision to make. Buy a corvette or take an art class. I chose the art class; it was also cheaper too! Kathy was my art teacher. Her gentle encouragement and her experience as an artist helped slowly build my confidence. She can be firm but the overall outcome is to make us better artists. Also there is never a dull moment in her classes. I am glad they never tape our conversations!! I have sold my first painting which I never thought possible. Kathy encourages me to do more difficult paintings though I never sure I am ready. My hope one day is to have my own showing. I thank Kathy for being along this journey with me. I think I made the right decision...not to buy the corvette." - Peter

"I've never been what anyone would call a terribly talented person at anything. When it comes to that sort of thing, I've always been a wannabe, so I've taken some classes here and there for different things. When I started Kathy's drawing class I thought I was making just another attempt at trying to find something I could do. What a surprise when I actually could do it! All the other classes I took, including other art classes, taught me to do what the instructor did. Kathy's was the first class that taught me what I could do! Her approach is clear, easy and very effective. Her style made me rely on my own abilities, and so I actually learned something. And I've gained a ton of confidence. Now I'm actually producing my own oil paintings and I really like them! And I love doing them. Kathy somehow brought out a talent in me I could not see before. What an amazing gift!. Thanks, Kathy." - Catherine

"I first met Kathy at an art show in the park. We talked and when I found out she gave lessons I convinced my mother to sign me up. It has been a year since I started. I've learned that I like doing portraits the best. Kathy is a great teacher. She always has pointers to help improve my art. She gives me the chance to use different mediums. The best thing she has taught me so far is to draw people, especially hands. I LOVE THIS CLASS." - Heather
