Original Art Work by Kathy Hebert

Art Classes

Most of my classes are conducted from my home. Most of my students take their first art class at Assabet Valley Vocational Tech (Assabet After Dark) on Thursday evenings in Marlboro, MA (www.assabetafterdark.com). The new sessions begin in September and March. My class is called "Beginning Art" and is a bit like art boot camp, designed specifically for adults who have always had a life-long dream to learn how to draw and paint, but "...are always held back by a feeling that you have no talent...." Be prepared to work hard and come with a sense of humor. Once students complete this course, they are encouraged to continue their artistic pursuits at my studio in Worcester.

For adults unable to take my "Beginning Art" class at Assabet, you may take the class at my studio in Worcester.

Once students complete my Beginning Art class, they can now pursue their own ideas of drawing and painting at my studio in Worcester. Here they find a friendly atmosphere, classes are no larger than 7 - 8 people, storage for their art supplies so they don't have to lug them to class each week, a chance to do make-ups for missed classes, parking, emails of their work each week so that they can watch their progress as they paint and, once their work is completed in class, their work is displayed on my website on Student Work.

Check out student Testimonials below and on the Testimonials page. Students feel a great sense of accomplishment and classes provide a little mental vacation from the stresses of everyday life.

Testimonials

"I've just completed my first year exploring drawing and painting. I never thought I could do any of this until I took Kathy's drawing class. I learned some great skills and also sparked an interest in painting. I now take painting classes with Kathy and continue to amaze myself with what I can do. Kathy is a kind and encouraging teacher who is quickly becoming my artistic mentor. What was supposed to be a little hobby is turning into an obsession!" - Michael

"Kathy possesses the unique blend of talented artist and excellent teacher. She has a wonderful eye for color and composition and works with each student to bring out their own unique vision versus taking a cookie cutter approach to teaching art. She is patient, always supportive, and makes her classes fun! Thanks to Kathy I am pursuing a lifelong ambition." - Judy
