There is just no better way to learn how to paint than from setting up a still life. It's a great way to sharpen my skills through the long New England winters. Getting that light correct is always of the utmost importance. Of course, it is nice to have beautiful flowers to paint in the spring and summer as well. I jump at the chance to paint peonies and lilacs from my own garden. These artworks reflects my musings over the last couple of years. I've had a "thing" about teapots lately. - Kathy Hebert
